Each Wednesday, at 9.30am, Steve Backshall hosts a live question and answer session.  They are fascinating!  I do hope you can join him here – https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCm-URP49TgSgyIU1rgh2m7A.  Steve sometimes has some mystery guests with him…!  What question might you like to ask him?

Zoom – following the success of our class meeting last week, I have scheduled another one and have emailed the details of it out to you.  During the next meeting I would love to see and share your jars of ideas, if you have started them?  Don’t forget, every time you wish you could do something, go somewhere, treat yourselves, see someone you love, visit a new place, invite people to visit, write it on a little note and put it in the jar.  When this is all over, you can work your way through the ideas in the jar and be more grateful than ever for the lovely things in our lives.  Until then, you can enjoy watching the jar fill up with magical things to look forward to.  I can’t wait to hear all of your lovely ideas.

Please remember to keep practising your Phonics by joining in with the MrMc videos on YouTube.  Reception children, these will help with your new learning.  Year 1 children, please watch them to help you recap these sounds.  So far, he has uploaded videos for the ‘ar‘, ‘or‘, ‘ur‘, ‘ow‘ and ‘oi‘ sounds.  He has also put on some videos for general recap of digraphs and trigraphs so far.  Enjoy!

I hope you have been regularly enjoying PE with Joe Wicks on his YouTube channel, but if you would like to do something active and fancy a change, how about having a go at Oti Mabuse’s Dance Classes for Kids?  Some of them are themed, for example there is a Trolls one, a Shrek one and a Mary Poppins one.  You can find them on YouTube.  Make sure you get your mum or dad to join in!

We had a go at the Aladdin dance routine!

Tapestry – Reception parents, please could you try to use Tapestry to record some of your wonderful home learning?  I would like to suggest that you set aside a little time each Friday afternoon to put together one observation showing some of the things you have been busy doing that week, if possible?  I would love to see them!

I am sure we are all trying to do lots to make sure this time with our children is productive and special.  It’s both wonderful and hard work all at once!  Having been super busy with my children home-schooling everyday, I let our bedtime story slip for a few nights.  But I know it is really important and I would like to encourage you to keep those story times going whilst also allowing yourself a break!  How about going on to YouTube and searching for CBeebies bedtime stories?  There are some wonderful stories on there.  Nothing beats you reading a story to your children, but we are all having plenty of quality time with them at the moment so make sure you are using what is available to help you too.  My children are particularly enjoying that it means we get to hear different books.  My son can particularly recommend The Dinosaur Who Pooped a Planet!

Finally, make sure your child keeps reading.  A little everyday is perfect!  I know lots of you have many wonderful books at home, but if you don’t, there are plenty of great ones available free online.  Why not have a look at www.oxfordowl.co.uk?

Have wonderful Easter holidays and look on this page for daily activities from Tuesday 21st AprilDon’t eat too many eggs!!
